Find Shobdon by road

From Worcester: Go West on A44 sign posted Leominster 26 miles.
From Hereford: Go North on A49 sign posted Leominster 15 miles.
From Ludlow: Go South on A49 sign posted Leominster 12 miles.
From Leominster: At the traffic lights next to a fish & chips shop, take the A44 out of town towards Radnor and the West. Continue up the hill and past the supermarket round-about. With the Barons Cross public houses on your left, branch right off the A44 for Eardisland. Take the third righthand turn about 1 mile out of town sign posted B4340, Kingsland 2 miles. At the far side of Kingsland, join the A4110 by turning right at the 'T' junction with Rugby club opposite. Follow this for 3 miles and turn left at Mortimers Cross onto B4362, sign posted Shobdon 2 miles. Continue along the B4362 to Shobdon and having past the village shop on the left, turn left and then immediate left again into the airfield entrance.

Once on the airfield

FIRST LESSON: Follow the approach road down the hill - watch out for the speed bumps, both natural and man made. At the main gates turn left into the visitors car park and follow signs for the canteen. Ask for a member of the gliding club. It may be necessary to leave the canteen grounds and go to the glider launch point - only do so with explicit instructions on the day.

VISITING PILOTS: Follow the approach road down the hill - watch out for the speed bumps, both natural and man made. Go beyond the main gates and turn left onto the perimeter track heading for the tower. Give way to aircraft where necessary and located the gliding club cabin just beyond the tower on the left. The canteen and wash rooms are located between the tower and main hangar. There will be a notice board in the cabin to indicated where the launch point is on the day. There are Briefing Notes available in the cabin and a club member should be on site too.
